An Ancient Call to Change that Never Gets Old
Ancient traditions are the core and beauty of faith-based practices. Today, in many places around the world, as part of the celebration of the 5784 Jewish New Year, a horn of the ram animal will be sounded 100 times.
The custom of sounding the ram’s horn, known in the Hebrew language as Shofar represents a “call to action” or a “wake up” for the soul. On this specific day, a person will make 100 sounds using a ram’s horn.
In our own lives, we know that when our morning alarm goes off, or any other alarm we set is heard, we must begin to take action.
One of the customs of the Jewish New Year is digging deep into our soul and reflecting upon who we might have hurt or offended (this may even include not taking care of our well-being).
The root of the Hebrew word “Shofar” means to improve. When people hear the sound of the ram’s horn, they are mean to wake up, take action and improve lives and deeds.
Opportuity awaits at this time to reach out to someone we have offended and apologies. We can even focus of overcoming the challenges that have been holding us back. As the Shofar sound is heard, a choice for changing our way and finding a better version of ourselves is within reach if we engage with the opportunities, we are given each day.
Vast Journey app “opportunity await” cards provide users daily opportunities to overcome challenges they face through playful experiences that break down serious challenges through quests that can be done.
